Five national dances
Each dance comes from a different region and has its own character. Children learn the steps, figures and music — and the history behind them.
- Polonez3/4 · stately
A processional dance, traditionally used to open a ball.
- Mazur3/4 · lively
From Mazovia — fast, with heel clicks and shifting accents.
- Krakowiak2/4 · bouncy
From around Kraków — syncopated rhythm and famous costumes.
- Kujawiak3/4 · lyrical
From Kujawy — calm and flowing, danced in couples.
- Oberek3/8 · spinning
The fastest of the five — turns, stamps and a lot of energy.
